Investing Systems Research Lab Blog for Week of May 2nd, 2011

Welcome Research Lab members, both new and renewing. We want you to know that we sincerely appreciate your support.

The focus of this blog is “potential trade setups” for stocks in good technical patterns.

Occasionally, and in the past if you look through old posts, you will see we sometimes do a bit of market commentary. But we generally keep on topic with the “stocks to watch”, as we do commentary on our 5 live shows a week.

Notwithstanding the “Sell in May and go away” seasonal tendencies, (which worked well last year), we have to trade what we see. The market is very likely to have a pullback in the near-term, which I think that can start at any time.

But when it comes to individual stocks we “trade what we see, not what we think”. Some of the setups below may not trigger this week, and some will still look good down the road.

Use it as a “watchlist” and don’t rush into anything in a weak market. There will be plenty just like them each week here. Now, on to the charts:

So there are a few setups to watch. The speculative nature varies widely, so stick with what you are the most comfortable with.

If you are new to this Blog, you will want to review previous posts, perhaps look through the setups and what transpired thereafter.

I hope you enjoyed the long weekend and were able to get some fresh air.

This week I bring you “the charts and nothing but the charts”.

Here are some stocks to watch going forward.

So there are a few ideas for you to look over. As always, be sure to look up the date of the earnings release for any of these you might consider, as well as other stocks you may be watching.
